What you need before you start
- A valid email address (one you can access right now)
- A phone number that can receive SMS
- A government-issued ID (passport, driver licence, or national ID)
- The Binance referral code — see our verified Binance referral code page
Set aside about 10-15 minutes. Most of that is waiting on Binance's identity-verification step, which involves a liveness camera check.
Method 1 — At signup (most common)
This is the standard path: new account, code applied during the registration form. Works on desktop browsers, Binance's mobile site, and the Binance app.
-
Open the Binance signup page through a referral link
Click any signup link on this page. It opens accounts.binance.com/register with the Referral ID field pre-filled with CRCBINANCE. Confirm the code is there before continuing.
-
Choose email or phone signup and enter your details
Binance lets you sign up with either email or phone. Use a real address you control — verification codes get sent here.
-
Confirm CRCBINANCE appears in the Referral ID field
If the Referral ID field is empty, expand the optional section and paste CRCBINANCE manually. This is the most common point of failure for users who don't get cashback later.
-
Verify your email and phone via the codes Binance sends
You receive two short verification codes — one by email, one by SMS. Enter each in turn. Verification must complete to advance to KYC.
-
Complete identity verification (KYC) with a government ID
Upload a passport, driver licence, or national ID. Follow the liveness check on camera. Once verification approves, your referral code locks in for cashback.
Method 2 — Before KYC (if you already created an account)
If you already signed up to Binance but haven't completed identity verification yet, you can still apply a referral code. The window closes when KYC completes.
Some unverified Binance accounts may still be able to add an invite code before KYC. Visit binance.com/en/invite, enter the code, then complete your verification. After KYC, codes generally cannot be changed.
Apply the code at Binance's invite page →Method 3 — On the Binance mobile app
The Binance app flow mirrors desktop with one twist: the Referral ID field is hidden behind an "Optional" expander on the signup screen.
-
Tap the "Optional" expander on the signup screen
It's below the email/phone field and above the password field.
-
Paste CRCBINANCE into the Referral ID field
If you arrived through a referral link, it may pre-fill. Confirm before proceeding.
-
Complete the rest of signup in the app
Email/SMS verification + KYC liveness check are all in-app.
Where to enter the Binance referral ID
The field is called "Referral ID" on the Binance signup page. On desktop, it's visible by default with a label. On the mobile app, it's hidden behind an "Optional" disclosure that you have to expand. Wherever the field lives, it accepts only alphanumeric characters — no spaces, no special punctuation.
If you click through a referral link (like ours), Binance pre-fills the code automatically. Always confirm visually before submitting — manual entry is the backup if the auto-fill fails.
Can you add a Binance referral code after KYC?
Generally no. Binance treats successful KYC verification as the cutoff for referral attribution. Once you're verified, the referrer slot on your account is locked — by design, to prevent fraud and double-attribution.
Some users have reported success contacting Binance support with a polite request, but this is not a reliable path. Plan to apply the code at signup or via the invite page before KYC — those are the two windows where the system actually accepts the change.
Binance referral code not working?
Common causes, in rough order of frequency:
- Code in the wrong field. Make sure you pasted it into "Referral ID," not the "Promo code" field or the password field. They look similar.
- KYC already completed. Once verified, you can't change the referrer.
- Account already had a referrer. If you signed up without a code, then tried to add one later, Binance may have assigned a default referrer at registration.
- Region restriction. If you're in a region where Binance.com doesn't serve users (US, UK, India, Iran, etc.), the code won't work because your account won't pass KYC.
- Code is for a different Binance product. Spot referral codes are usually separate from Binance Earn or Binance Card promo codes. Use the one from a verified referral source.
If you've checked all of the above and the code still won't apply, the most useful step is to contact Binance support directly. Be specific: "I want to apply referral code CRCBINANCE to my account, which has not yet completed KYC." They'll either resolve it or explain the block.
Referral code vs referral ID — are they different?
On Binance, "referral code" and "referral ID" refer to the same field. The exchange uses both terms interchangeably across its interfaces — older flows say "Referral ID," newer flows say "Referral Code." The value you enter is identical.
This is different from a promo code (one-time bonuses tied to specific campaigns) or a QR-based referral link (which encodes the same ID into a URL). All three end up writing to the same underlying field on your Binance account.
How to verify your code was applied
After signup completes, open Binance and navigate to: More → Referral → Referral Lite (or Referral Pro). If the code applied successfully, you'll see your referrer listed and a cashback ledger that tracks credits from your trades.
If the Referral page shows no referrer or "Not eligible," the code didn't apply. Check the common-causes list above; if the issue is fresh (you signed up in the last 24 hours and haven't KYC'd), the invite page is your last chance to fix it.
Common mistakes that cost you cashback
- Skipping the optional Referral ID field on mobile. The Binance app collapses the field by default. If you don't expand it, you'll sign up without a referrer.
- Completing KYC before checking the code. Once KYC verifies, the referrer slot freezes. Always confirm the code shows up before hitting submit on the verification step.
- Pasting the code with surrounding whitespace. Some browsers add a leading or trailing space when copying. Binance treats those as invalid. Re-paste if the field rejects your input.
- Using a Binance.com referral code on a separate regional platform. Binance.US, the now-discontinued Netherlands platform, and the India platform each have their own referral programs. A Binance.com code won't track on those.
- Expecting cashback at trade time. Fees deduct normally; cashback credits separately in the Referral section. Some users panic when they see full fees on their first trade and report the code as "broken" — it's working, just paying out later.
Common questions
Can I change my Binance referral code after signup?
No. Once your account is created with a referral code (or without one), the assignment is permanent. The only edit window is before KYC completes via the invite page.
Why is my Binance referral code not working?
Common causes: the code was pasted in the wrong field, you already completed KYC, your account was created under a different referrer, or your region is restricted. Recheck the field at signup and confirm via the invite page before finishing verification.
How long after signup does the cashback start?
Cashback starts crediting after your first eligible trade. The trading-fee credit usually appears in your Binance Referral / Rewards Center within minutes to a few hours after each trade, depending on trade volume and Binance settlement timing.
Do I need to use BNB for the cashback to work?
No. BNB is optional and gives you a separate 25 percent fee discount on spot trades. The referral cashback works regardless of whether you use BNB; the two stack.
Does the code work if I sign up on the mobile app?
Yes. On the Binance mobile app, the referral code field appears at signup just like on desktop. Make sure to enter the code before completing email and phone verification.
Where do I see the cashback in my Binance account?
Open the More menu in the Binance app or website, then Referral, and choose Referral Lite or Referral Pro. Your trading-fee credit ledger lives there. Voucher credits also appear in the Rewards Center, where you can see remaining balance applied to future trades.
